Thank you very much. I hope you dance is one of my favorite songs. Thanks for the like and comment on my Mel Tillis lens. Feel free to add it anywhere you like. As long as I'm living my baby you'll be. I highly recommend it for this lens.

My firstborn is a son. I will refer to this lens over and over, especially when I need a feel good moment. I'm starting to plan a graduation party for my oldest boy, I plan on including some of his fav songs from blues clues and bear and the big blue house for embarrassment purposes but found your lens to be super helpful in finding the ones with true meaning.

My husband and I pick a song to dedicate to each of our children when they are born: These mother and son songs are so beautiful! I hadn't heard some of them before and liked them. I have to sing them to my son, I feel sorry for his ears hehe.

I have to get these songs! Not that many people know this about me, but I'm a big Josh Groban fan, of his music at least. These are lovely selections; made my heart smile for sure.

As a mom of two boys I am delighted to find these mother and son songs today. My boys are now not so young, and yet not so old - yet they THINK they know it all at ages 18 and 19 send prayers. Siill they're my 'boys' now and forever. We liked it so much, we once set up a recorder and did a duet.

This ended both of our ambitions as singers. Well, I didn't make it even halfway down the page before I was crying! I knew a few of them, but you introduced me to many wonderful songs I haven't heard. I remember my mother singing to me a very sad song about a little girl who was left alone after her mother and father were killed in a car accident ok it sounds cruel but it is a beautiful - educational song.

The bluegrass version of "Baby of Mine. I still love Brahm's lullaby, too. Thanks for the great hub! Here is an article I wrote if you are interested called Parenting Boys: Lots of great songs you've selected. Lyrics from Somewhere Out There "Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight. Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight" I would remind my son during some pretty shaky times bad custody battle.

Wonderful selection of mother and son songs. Just added a song suggestion to my recent FB thread; wondering whether you have heard the song, Mother of Mine? I listened to every song you shared; many I knew, many were new to me. Excellent song choices for this mother and son. Blessings and a bit o' sunshine! For a mom to be able to see her son having her own family it can be both happy and sad.

Mixed emotions knowing that her boy will be separated from him and songs can be one of the medium that could say everything she has in her heart.

Several classic albums were released in , a year led by Rick James ' Street Songs , Luther Vandross ' Never Too Much , and Slave 's Show Time , but the 7" and 12" sections at record stores were regularly replenished with newly charting singles that reached Billboard 's Hot Soul Singles at a rate of roughly ten a week.

During the year's second-to-last week, close Mtume associate and session keyboardist Hubert Eaves III, along with newcomer vocalist James Williams, strong-armed all contenders with "You're the One for Me," the ultimate synth-funk jam.

As a classification, "jam" seems far too light. Eaves' synthesizer weighed a ton. Even if you can't help but mishear "Bustin' up on a cloud" as a certain unprintable exclamation, there is no denying that Williams brought the year's most powerful vocal.

As in , there were more than enough outstanding singles in '81 to justify monthly top tens. They appear beneath the embedded Spotify link and necessitated their own tough cuts.

This era was golden. If a ranked, deep list of album cuts and failed-to-chart singles were appended to the charted 40, the trip from number one to number 80 wouldn't involve a significant drop in quality.

Favorite number 41 appears in its place, at the end of the playlist.
